Hello - my name is Richard Bratby, and I'm responsible for finding work for the CBSO's numerous small ensembles. We've around 20, including String Quartets and Trios, Jazz, Contemporary, Tango, Baroque and Palm Court Ensembles, all keen to find performance opportunities around the Midlands.
I've been working quite successfully with Making Music West Midlands, but of course Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire are also very much within our orbit.
I am keen to make our ensembles known to promoting societies in the East Midlands - not only because the CBSO wishes to involve itself fully in the musical life of the region we serve, but also because our groups, based hi the Midlands and appreciably less expensive than freelance ensembles, might be of real interest to the smaller and less wealthy of your member societies.
